The Engr Chidi Ibeh-led faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Delta-born Leo Irabor has the new Chief of Defence Staff.
Maj. Gen Leo Irabor, a member of the Regular Course 34 of the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, replaces General Abayomi Olonisakin
Irabor as soon as served as the theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole and headed the MultiNational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) as the Field Commander.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo faction described the removing of former service chiefs as a solution to the prayers of Nigerians.
“It’s a new dawn, for Nigeria towards defeating Boko Haram insurgents and bandits ravaging the north,” the group mentioned in an announcement signed by its President-General, Engr. Chidi Ibeh.
“Buhari has demonstrated braveness and political will by the removing of former service chiefs who had ran out of concepts.
“These new service chiefs ought to be given a transparent mandate to crush Boko Haram insurgents and bandits, whereas sustaining strict professionalism in discharging their new mandates.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo lauds President Buhari for the appointment of Maj Gen leo irabor, a Delta igbo as Chief of Defense staff.”
