Following the reported demise of a former Minister of Information, Chief Alex Akinyele, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday, expressed deep shock and unhappiness over the event.
Mohammed, in a press release by the Special Assistant to the President (Media),
Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Segun Adeyemi, stated the demise of Akinyele was a monumental loss to his household, the individuals of Ondo State and Nigerians typically.
“The Minister described the late Chief Akinyele, to whom he was properly acquainted in his lifetime, particularly within the realms of public
relations, as an astute administrator and a highly-respected public relations practitioner.
“He stated Chief Akinyele’s tenure as Minister of Information, and later because the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, was characterised by his unusual ardour for Nigeria, in addition to his spectacular erudition.
“Alhaji Mohammed stated the household of the deceased, in addition to his
buddies and associates, needs to be comforted by his legacy of service to humanity,” Adeyemi wrote.
