2019 Presidency: Northern youths clash over Buhari’s re-election

Under two years to the 2019 general decisions, northern young people have conflicted over the moves by President Muhammadu Buhari to look for second term in office. Despite the fact that the 1999 Constitution gives the President the privilege to look for re-decision after the initial four years in office, one of the northern gatherings, Arewa Youth Forum, headed by Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Gugungu, yesterday, kicked against Buhari’s second term offer, portraying his assertion of enthusiasm during an era of uncertainty, prompting mass murder of honest Nigerians in Rivers, Benue, Kwara, Kaduna state, as wrong. The AYF portrayed the president’s activity as uncaring as well as brutal and offending to the consensus of northern young people. In any case, scarcely 24 hours after the report by the AYF, another northern group, known as Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, repudiated the previous, saying they were yet to examine the issue of Buhari’s second term and take a position on it. In an announcement made accessible to Sunday Vanguard, the representative for the CNG, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, abandoned Arewa Youth Forum, saying it isn’t partnered to CNG. Suleiman called attention to that AYF does not have any association with it, as its individuals were effortlessly related to green scarves and an engraving “Gladly Nigerian”. The representative said that at no time did northern gatherings met to take a position on Buhari or some other presidential hopeful for the 2019 survey as, they were presently occupied with a crusade to free the north of illegal medications and other hurtful substances and not legislative issues. He stated, “The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) whose individuals wear green scarves with the engraving “gladly Nigerian” has removed itself from a daily paper report that depicted President Muhammadu Buhari’s apparent re-race offer as uncaring. “What we are worried about by and by is the more unavoidable and present peril of mishandle of illegal medications and other destructive substances that are right now assaulting northern family units and Youth. “We ended up plainly frightened when the report being referred to strongly bears the photos of some of our Coalition pioneers while we are not at all associated with it. “We are as of now somewhere down in the battle of sparing the north from the scourge of medication manhandle especially among its childhood and womenfolk. “It is to be made inexhaustibly clear to all that the Arewa Youth Forum which made the claim against the president is neither a part nor a partner of the CNG
