The Dein of Agbor Kingdom His Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku, has described the choice of Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko as Olu-designate for Warri kingdom as a “right” one.
The first class monarch stated this on Wednesday when he paid a visit to the Omoba at his Ideniken in Warri, Delta state.
Ikenchuku also commended the palace chiefs for promoting the cultural values of the Itsekiri people, charging them to sustain it.
Expressing confidence the Omoba will take the Itsekiri kingdom to greater heights, he pointed out tradition changes with time and there was the need for people to flow with the tide.
He further stated the two kingdoms had always enjoyed a robust relationship from the time of the defunct Bendel State, adding Warri kingdom was his second home in Delta State.
“What will be will be. There are only two First Class Kings in Delta- the Obi of Agbor and the Olu of Warri. Never embarrass your King, anybody who does embarrasses himself. There is a reason why the Chiefs wear white , the white must never be stained.
“Tradition serves man, tradition is dynamic. The tradition years ago may not be so now. We must flow with the time.
“After this period close ranks with all, bring all close. My brother (referring to Omoba Tsola Emiko) and I have a lot to do in Delta State and the Niger Delta.
“You have chosen right. The almighty God has chosen a good king for you. He will grow the kingdom to greater heights,” the Dein of Agbor stated.
Omoba Emiko later presented a rich historical document as a present to the visiting monarch.
Omoba Emiko will be crowned the 21st Olu of Warri kingdom on August 21
