Milan have confirmed the arrival of Mario Mandzukic with the frontman signing a one-year deal at the club.
The former Croatia international departed Italy little over a year ago having fallen out of favour at Juventus. Having moved to Qatar based side Al-Duhail SC in December 2019, Mandzukic’s contract was terminated by mutual consent after just ten appearances for the club.

Having been without a team since July, the 34-year-old has now secured a move to Serie A leaders Milan as they look to bolster their strike force in a bid to maintain their title tilt.
Veteran talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in sensational form for the Rossoneri this season – only failing to score in one of his eight league appearances – but aside from the enigmatic Swede, no player in the Milan squad has scored more than six league goals this campaign.
The arrival of Mandzukic will provide some much-needed competition for Ibrahimovic, and Milan took to their official website to confirm the news.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Mario Mandzukic,” the statement read. “The Club and the striker have agreed on a deal until the end of the current season with an option to extend the contract for the next one. Mario Mandzukic will wear the number 9 jersey.

“Mandžukić has won 24 trophies including one UCL, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Cup World Cup, nine championships and 12 between national Cups and Super Cups. He is the second-best scorer ever of the Croatian national team with 33 goals in 89 appearances.”
Mandzukic returns to Italy having enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in Serie A between 2015 and 2019. His time with Juventus saw him notch a league winner’s medal in each of his four years with the club, and with Milan leading the way in this year’s race to the Scudetto there’s every chance he could add to his already impressive collection.
