One individual misplaced his life whereas 18 others sustained accidents in a deadly motor accident alongside the Enugu-Onitsha expressway in Anambra State.
The accident, which occurred alongside the Umunya-Nteje axis concerned two business buses.
A witness stated one of many buses collided with an oncoming car after certainly one of its tyres pulled off whereas on movement.
He stated many of the passengers within the car that had the tyre drawback sustained various levels of damage because of the affect of the crash.
When contacted, the Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, Pascal Anigbo, confirmed the incident.
He stated: “A head on collision by two buses this morning alongside the Umunya-Nteje axis of the Enugu-Onitsha expressway claimed a life and injured 18 individuals.
“The accident was as a result of loss of control that happened when the tyres of one of the buses pulled off, causing it to collide with the other vehicle.”
He stated the injured individuals have been taken to a close-by hospital whereas the useless individual has been deposited on the morgue.
Anigbo regretted careless driving amongst motorists regardless of public enlightenment campaigns by the command on change of perspective in the direction of street utilization.
