Be careful : deceit going on in the name of Jesus

Occasionally, when I try to help Christians understand the
difference between the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all the deceit
going on in the name of Christ in Nigeria, some people will inbox
me telling me that as a pastor, that I should not be criticizing the
church. But the question remains: how can a church captured by
darkness see the light if the light of the true gospel is not made to
shine on it?
Take a look at what Apostle John through the Holy Spirit says in
the bible before I address the issue that I want to talk about here:
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have
fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not
live out the truth.” 1 John 1: 5 -7
Have you finished taking a look at what the bible says? Did you
understand it?
Now, take a look at this tree in the picture. It is called General
Sherman tree. It is located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National
Park in Tulare County, in the U.S. state of California. By volume, it
is the largest known living single-stem tree on Earth. Because of
its size and categorizations, people visit that state, just to look at it,
touch it and take pictures around it. It is one of the tourist
attractions in that state, bringing people and economic benefits to
the state.

There are other tree classifications that are tourist attractions to
their places of location.
The tallest known living tree on Earth – the Hyperion tree, a Coast
redwood;
The widest – cypress and baobab have a greater diameter;
The oldest known living tree on Earth – The Great Basin bristlecone
pine. With a height of 83.8 meters (275 ft), a diameter of 7.7 m (25
ft), and an estimated age of 2,300–2,700 years, this is among the
tallest, widest, and longest-lived of all trees on the planet.
I learnt that you Christians and your pastors are going about
cutting down large trees because you believe that there are
demons in them. You really believed this and you call yourself a
Christian? I learnt some of you believe that these giant trees are
the very reason why your communities are poor? I find it ridiculous
that a christian, filled with the Holy Spirit, the wisdom of God would
allow himself or herself to believe in this concocted lie even after
you read from the newspaper billions of Nigerian money that
Abacha stole and starched away in every village bank in Europe
and America. Add the ones stolen by Nigerian leaders and you
would realize that you have falsely accused an innocent tree and
deprived your community one means of attracting tourists to your
land.
Please, tell your pastors to stop cutting the trees. It is the witches
that manage your economy and government that make you poor,
not the trees. Rather than cut these trees, clean them up and build
amusement parks around them and install beautiful lights. . I
assure you that Kids would have fun, adults will enjoy, elders will
gather around it and enjoy fresh palm wine and your pastors will
begin to see angels ascending and descending on those trees as
those parks will become veritable grounds for sharing the gospel.
Fellow Igbo Christains! Be wise and stop doing foolish things. The
early Apostles who walked with the Lord Jesus will be so
disappointed if they see the amount of fear that you submit to.
Because of this unhealthy godless fear, you are almost loosing any
sense of love and community.
Whenever an angel of God comes to God’s people, the first thing
the angel says is “DO NOT FEAR”. Watch out for those who want
to make you afraid, they want to take over your life and run it. Let
God run your life.
