Ghana police arrested 5 Nigerians for raping woman, forces husband to watch

The Tema Police have arrested five Nigerians who allegedly raped a woman in the presence of her husband during robbery at Community 25, Tema, Ghana. According to a report published on Ghanaweb, the suspects were apprehended last weekend. Their mode of operation is attacking mobile money vendors, mostly women in their house with machetes and guns and raping them after taking away their valuables. Confirming the incident, Chief Superintendent Cecilia Arko, Crime Officer of the Prampram Divisional Police Command, said that four among the five suspects had attacked a couple at their residence at about 3:00 am barely a month ago.

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court yesterday remanded two men at Kirikiri Prisons for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old orphan. The prosecutor, Ezekiel Ayorinde, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), told the court that the men – Olabisi Olaniawo, 35, and Busayo Adeshope, 27 – were foster father and step-brother to the victim when they committed the offence at their homes between 2015 and 2019. NNPC TO CONTINUE OIL SEARCH IN CHAD BASIN

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it will resume crude oil search in the Chad basin immediately it gets clearance from security agencies in the country. The Group Managing Director, Dr Maikanti Baru made the disclosure during a courtesy visit on him by Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed in Abuja on Wednesday. The Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CCAMH), University of Ibadan, says that Nigerian students have one of the highest rates of suicidal thoughts and attempts globally. The Adamawa State police command has burst a criminal gang of 151 members including three, 12-year-old boys, suspected to be terrorising various Adamawa communities.
