Gareth Bale has been urged to copy a Cristiano Ronaldo trick to hit the ground running at Tottenham by Ian Wright.
The Welshman is edging closer to a loan move from Real Madrid back to his former club, having become an outcast under Zinedine Zidane.
It saw him make just 20 appearances last season, which has seen some question if Spurs will benefit from the 31-year-old’s return.
But Wright, who scored 185 goals in nearly 300 appearances at rivals Arsenal, believes the 31-year-old should copy one of his old team-mate’s tricks to get back to form.
Speaking on The Kelly & Wright Show, the former forward said: “We’re talking about Bale coming back to the Premier League and showing people he’s still got it.

“He could have gone to China and people will probably question his desire now.
“In his mind, there was no love [at Madrid]. No matter what happened, he wasn’t playing and just thought he might as well do that.
“But this is Tottenham. When he comes back to Tottenham, it will be all about him. But he’ll have to change his game a bit.
“We’re seeing some amazing goals and people are expecting to see it again.
“He’s got to get himself going again and maybe even modify his game, like Cristiano Ronaldo – conserve yourself for the tip of the game.”
Madrid’s former player moved to Juventus in 2018 for £89m, going to on score 65 goals in 89 appearances.
Ronaldo started his lethal partnership with Bale in 2014 when the Welshman arrived for a then-record £85m from Tottenham.
The 31-year-old had impressed in the 2012/13 season, scoring 26 goals in 44 appearances from the wing.
And former manager Redknapp believes the forward will be able to rekindle his form in north London.
“It would be a fantastic signing for the club and it would be great for Gareth to get back playing again. He’s such a talent, such a great player and it’s waste to see him not playing,” Redknapp told BBC Radio Wales.
“To get back to Tottenham could just turn their season around. They’ve been quite average in the last six months or so. End of last season and obviously got beat on Sunday by Everton.
“They need that little bit of magic Gareth can bring. If he went there or Manchester United, wherever he went, he would make a massive difference.”
