“I knew I found my missing rib, the first day I met her” – Jeremiah Agada reveals how he met his wife, Esther

THE DAY I SAW HER AND SAID, ‘HELLO,’ I KNEW I HAVE FOUND MY MISSING RIB!

Over the weekend, the wedding bell tolled for one of Nigeria’s finest brand correspondents, Jeremiah Agada as he walked his long-time girlfriend down the aisle.

Speaking to Laila’s blog on how he met his bride shortly after the holy solemnization which was organized by The Lord’s Crew (TLC) and supervised by Pastor Ola Dicxin, Jerry as the groom is known for short, explained that they met some six years ago when he heeded the call to serve his fatherland in Akwa Ibom, Ikot Ekpene. “The journey to forever started during my service at Akwa Ibom state. The day I saw her and said, ‘hello,’ I knew I have found my missing rib,” he said.

“I was a 25-year-old corps member trying to chart the course for my life beyond the National Youth Service, NYSC while she 19 and was in search of admission after secondary school since 2012. When I first saw her, she looked older, perhaps because she wearing a gown and a headgear that made her appear matured enough. The second date was almost a disaster. She was dressed differently and appeared to look 13. I was seriously discouraged and almost pulled the plug on the relationship that was just about to start.”

“With time, he understood my kind of person and I got to know him better. At the beginning, he will hide me away from his friends, and we rarely went out. His friends use to taunt him then, because of me as my uncle worked in his place of primary assignment. As the years rolled by, he became more comfortable in the relationship. They rest, as they say, is history,” Esther, the bride explained.

Mr. Francis Ewherido, Managing Director of Titan Insurance Brokers Chaired the reception of the wedding shortly after the exchange of vows which took place earlier. In his admonition to the couple, he enjoined them to be faithful in keeping the vows they have taken together earlier. He advised that above all, the accomplished author and columnist advised the couple always let love, understanding and tolerance lead, as that is what marriages are built upon.

Besides the dashing smile and the radiant beauty of the bride, one of the spectacular aspects of the small wedding ceremony which held in compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols, is the fact that the Best man to the groom is his boss, Joshua Ajayi, Managing Director and CEO of Awesome Communications, publishers of the multi-award-winning Brand Communicator Magazine.

This is almost reminiscent of ace musician Davido’s ‘feat’ of besting his driver at the latter’s wedding. But the groom says it is much more beyond that. He said, “honoured is a word that conveys part of the feeling of having Josh(ua) as my Bestman. We are more of a family than an organization, more of friends than colleagues and more of siblings than employer-employee.

Equally speaking on this, Joshua took to his Instagram page a day after to write: “’Besting’ this great member @jeremiah_agada of the @brandcommunicator team on his big day yesterday gives me so much joy. Happy married life to a brother, friend, colleague and his beautiful wife @esthylicious_001. God bless your union,” he said.

The groom who is known as Jerry, for short, is a graduate of the department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN. A member of the Jacksonites (As graduates from the department are called) of the set of 2013, he has etched his mark as one of the most dedicated members of the platform. It is no wonder that a member wrote on him, “Jerry has been making great footprints in the sands of time. It wasn’t surprising that Prof. Pat Utomi, President of the Jacksonites Alumni Association Worldwide, in his end-of-year 2019 message, singled out Jerry among the four Jacksonites who are making the strongest impact in the Alumni movement! In spite of his voluminous official duties, he makes out time to attend to mounting Alumni tasks from all quarters without fail! He was indisputably the “one-man” Secretariat of the Jacksonites Alumni Association Worldwide! He was the go-to man! Give him any assignment, consider it done! It’s multi-tasking at it’s best!”

While at the Jackson Building, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Record Newspaper, published by the Department of Mass Communication, UNN, where he led his team to generate the highest revenue ever generated by the newspaper at the time, beating the last set’s record by over 300%.
