I guess they were going to New Benin Market.”
He added that the police rescued the automotive driver and the girl and took them to a hospital.
Another youth Leader, Evans Uselu, mentioned the deceased wished to flee however have been knocked down by the automotive as a result of they may not cross over the gutter.
“We have been asking government to close the gutter but they refused. It is too wide. That is why we are protesting. The four women are of the same family,” he mentioned.
The Edo State Police Public Relations officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident, describing it as unlucky.
He mentioned, “Our men were there to restore peace and they did their best. It was an accident and it was quite unfortunate.”
