SCARS OF WOMANHOOD

Isis burns 19 women alive for rejecting sex slavery

19 young Yazidi girls were burned alive in iron cages after the girls committed the “crime” of refusing to have sex with their captors. This atrocity was said by local activity to have taken place in the Iraqi city of Mosul, which has currently become a battlefield between ISIS fighters and anti-ISIS coalition forces. An eye-witness reported that the burnings took place in front of hundreds of people.

Shockingly, this disgusting mass murders is justified under Islam. In an article entitled ISIS Enshrines a Theology of Rape, the New York Times reported on the religious sources ISIS fighters have used to justify their rapes of their female slaves. They believe that having sex with infidel slaves, including young girls actually brings them closer to Allah. Indeed they would pray before and after they rape their victims.

Over 20,000 Nigerian girls are trapped in Mali for sex business

It has been difficult for approximately 20,000 Nigerian girls who are trapped in a disheartening sex slave business in Mali to find their way back to their homeland because a great number of influential people are benefitting from their misfortunes. An investigation by Al Jazeera News discovered this and confirmed a “collusion between Malian law enforcement agents and traffickers are hampering rescue efforts”. It was gathered that a Nigerian government agency has been making to secure the freedom of the victims. Some of the victims were captured in a documentary looking helpless and hopeless.

According to an anti-trafficking activist, Prosper Michael in a clip posted via Al Jazeera Twitter handle, the efforts made so far to stop this heinous crime has been lacking the desired results because of many who are gaining from it.

Our feminists need to storm this place to stop this; this is more than crude and barbaric. Why endure as a woman being tortured like this all in the name of love if truly you have the interest of women at heart, dear feminists? Be on the next plane to Ethiopia.

Women from the Hamar tribe in Ethiopia are whipped to show their love for men going through the rite of passage ceremony. The beatings go on till their backs turn bloody. Worst still, they are not allowed to scream; they even beg the men to do it again and again. Culture can be diverse.
